Born in 1975 in Kalihati Upazila, Tangail District, M. Aminur Rahman passed his Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations in 1990 and 1992 respectively, both in the Science group with commendable results. He enlisted in the Bangladesh Air Force on 31 March 1994 and served with distinction for 29 years, rising through the ranks from Leading Aircraftman through Corporal and Sergeant to Warrant Officer. He accumulated eleven professional qualifications — including a Diploma of Associate Engineer in Armament Technology recognised by the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, international training on the PD7.1 missile test bench in China, and specialist courses in EOD/IEDD and the FM-90 SHORAD air-defence system. He gained working experience on multiple missile platforms (PL-7, R-73E, R-27RI, PL-5E, PD-7.1) and served as a Pre-Shipment Inspector of Missile PL-5E in China and as a Junior Commissioned Officer-in-Charge and Supervisor at various BAF bases and units. He was deployed to the Democratic Republic of Congo under the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission (MONUSCO), where he was awarded the United Nations Medal for meritorious service.
Passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination in 1990 and the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination in 1992, both in the Science group with commendable results — establishing the academic foundation for a career in technical military service.
Inducted into the Bangladesh Air Force at the rank of Leading Aircraftman. Assigned to the Armament Fitter trade — a critical technical discipline responsible for the serviceability of all ground and airborne weapon systems.
Successfully completed the Advance Training programme in Armament Technology, covering 15 technical disciplines. Diploma awarded 25 March 1998, recognised as equivalent to Diploma of Associate Engineer by the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB). Curriculum included theory of flight, guided missiles, ejection devices, aircraft guns/bombs/rockets and gun sights, aircraft armament electrical systems, chemistry of explosives, ground defence weapons, explosive regulation and demolition, and maintenance management.
Completed Senior Trade Training at the Aero Engineering Training Squadron. Course of instruction covered engineering workshop practice, electricity and electronics, seat ejection devices, chemistry of explosives, aircraft guns, rocket and missile systems, firing ranges, demolition, and maintenance management.
Completed a formal course of instruction on Management at the Training Wing, BAF Base Zahurul Haque, Chattogram — one of the principal operational installations of the Bangladesh Air Force.
Completed theoretical and practical training on the PD7.1 electronic test bench at the Opt-electronic Technology Research and Development Institute of China National South Aviation Industry (Group) Co. Ltd. Graduated with qualified achievement through theory examination and practical operation check.
Completed the No 05 Operation and Maintenance of EOD/IEDD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal / Improvised Explosive Device Disposal) Equipment course at BAF Base Bangabandhu, qualifying in the operation and maintenance of explosive ordnance disposal and counter-IED equipment.
Deployed to the Democratic Republic of Congo as a military member of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission (MONUSCO). Awarded the United Nations Medal on 6 December 2020 in recognition of meritorious qualifying service in the theatre of operations.
Completed the No 7 Ops Orientation Course on the FM-90 SHORAD (Short Range Air Defence) system at 301 Surface-to-Air Missile Unit, Bangladesh Air Force — qualifying in the operations of this short-range air-defence weapon system.
Honourably discharged from the Bangladesh Air Force upon completion of 29 years of continuous service under Rule 31 of the Air Force Act Rules 1957, on transfer to the pension establishment. Retirement certificate issued by the BAF Record Office, Dhaka Cantonment.

Science Group
Science Group
Qualified in the inspection, repair, maintenance, and storage of ground and airborne armament equipment across the Bangladesh Air Force inventory.
Working experience on PL-7, R-73E, R-27RI, and PL-5E missile systems. Certified on the PD7.1 missile test bench (trained in China). Served as Pre-Shipment Inspector of Missile PL-5E in China.
Proficient in small arms maintenance, explosives handling, ammunition accounting, and adherence to safe storage and disposal protocols in accordance with BAF regulations.
Completed Ground Defense Orientation. Trained in perimeter security, base defence operations, and threat response procedures.
Trained in the maintenance and inspection of seat ejection devices, including safety protocols, operational readiness checks, and servicing procedures for aircraft ejection systems.
Qualified in aircraft armament electrical systems — encompassing wiring, circuitry, and electronic interfaces that support weapon delivery and release mechanisms across BAF aircraft.
Certified in Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Improvised Explosive Device Disposal equipment operation and maintenance. Trained at BAF Base Bangabandhu.
Qualified on the FM-90 SHORAD (Short Range Air Defence) system. Ops orientation completed at 301 Surface-to-Air Missile Unit, Bangladesh Air Force.
